Dr. T.S.Chandrasekar is presently the Chairman and Chief Gastroenterologist of MedIndia Hospitals, Chennai. He is the Hon. National President of Indian Society of Gastroenterology. He is also the Former President of Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India.

Dr. T.S.Chandrasekar has an experience of over 35 years as Gastroenterologist. His main area of interest is Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

For his services to society all through his Professional Career, the Government of India conferred upon him the “Padmashree Award” for Medicine in 2016

HONOURS AND REWARDS

1. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest Civilian Honour of the Padmashree in 2016, for his contributions to Medicine.
2. He was honoured with the Prestigious Dr. K.S.Sanjivi Award by Udhavum Ullangal and Ekam Foundation in 2011
3. He was awarded as the Doctor of Science from Dr. M.G.R Medical University
4. Fellowship of the International Medical Sciences Academy, Chandigarh in November 2009
5. Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in December 2009
6. He was awarded the Olympus J. Mitra Endoscopy Award by Indian Society of Gastroenterology in 2009
7. He was the Organising Chairman of 11th Annual Conference of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India(SGEI) and the International Live Workshop- Digestive Endoscopy in July, 2010
