Dr. Ashish Babhulkar - Advisor - Orthopaedics

Dr. Ashish Babhulkar is a Shoulder Specialist & Joint Replacement Surgeon currently practicing at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune.

He has been associated with over 10 professional organizations and serves as the Founder President of The Shoulder Society of India since Sep 2011. He has been a reviewer for International Journal of Shoulder Surgery, British Journal of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery and Indian Journal of Orthopedics.

He has an extensive experience as an editorial board member of international journals and book chapters. Following are some of the positions held by him as an editor.

  • Editorial Board of International Journal of Orthopaedics (ISSN 2311-5106)
  • Current Reviews in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Springer published quarterly journal.
  • Section Editor for Special Shoulder Edition 2014.

He has been actively organizing conferences and workshops nationwide and has performed over 63 Live surgeries in India at various conferences. Recently, he was the Organising Secretary of the 6th Shoulder Conclave 2014.He has also been organizing PSRP Shoulder rehab whole day workshops annually for the past 11 years. He has also pioneered Reverse Shoulder replacement in India. He has also delivered guest lectures and presentations at over 20 symposiums nationally and internationally.

Being a firm believer in developing the ecosystem and resource and knowledge sharing, he has Trained over 60 Physiotherapists on the Dr.Milind Joshi PSRP fellowship programme and has hosted over 81 visiting Orthopaedic fellows (Indian & Foreign) for training in Shoulder Arthroscopy.
