Dr. Karoon Agrawal is presently working as Director-Professor and Head of the Department of Burns, Plastic & Maxillofacial department, Safdarjung Hospital and VMMC, New Delhi.

He has completed his post graduation MCh (Plastic Surgery) in 1983 and has worked for 23 years at JIPMER Pondicherry and established state of art department.

With an overall experience of 30 years, he is currently the Editor in chief of Cleft and related and craniofacial Surgery Journal, Chief Editor of Text Book of Plastic Surgery (underway), Guest Editor of Indian Journal of Plastic Surgery 2011, Present member of Medical Advisory board of smile train in India, Chairman Ethical committee, Institute of Pathology, ICMR and Advisor to Govt of India for designing, planning and implementation of National Burn Programme.

Has more than 130 journal publications, 6 text book chapters and a book. He has published many innovations in Cleft lip and palate surgeries.

He is the President of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India for 2015, Past President of Indian Society of Cleft & Craniofacial Anomalies 2009 and Past President of National Academy of Burns- India 2010.

He is also an Examiner, Reviewer, Inspector for MCI, DNB, many universities. He has received National Teacher Award in 2015.
