Prof Dr Subhash Khanna is the Chief Medical Director and Chief Consultant at Swagat Endolaparoscopic Surgical Research Institute, Guwahati, Assam, India.

He is also the Chief Medical Director at Swagat Super Speciality Surgical Institute, Managing Director and Chairman at Swagat Hospitals Pvt Ltd, and Dean at Swagat Academy of medical Sciences, Guwahati.

He has completed his graduation in 1979 and his post graduation is MS (General Surgery) in 1983 at Gauhati Medical College and has more than 35 years of experience.

• First surgeon in North East India to start Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery(1992)
• First Surgeon in Assam and North East India to start use of Staplers in intestinal surgery.
• First Surgeon in North East India to complete 20000 Laparoscopic procedures.
• First Executive member—East- Indian Association of Gastro-intestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES) 1995.
• First Laparoscopic Surgeon from Assam and Eastern States to be recognised as a National Trainer for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy courses at Ethicon Institute, Mumbai, which is recognised by the IAGES- 1995
• Vice President of Indian Association of Gastro-intestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), 1998-2000.
• Started the First Centre of Minimal Access Surgery in the Eastern India in June 2000 along with first such Training centre in the North East
