Dr.V.Bhattacharya is a Senior Consultant and Plastic Surgeon who is currently serving as the Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Institute of Medical Sciences Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. He has special interests in 

• Detail study in the field of ‘circulation of flaps’.
• Management of lower limb defects
• Maxillo-facial injury
• Tissue expansion
• Flaps on face
• Basal cell carcinoma
• Ear Reconstruction
• Aesthetic Rhinoplasty
• Post burn contractures

He has been the President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India for 2008. Engaged in Intense Clinical Research persistently since 1984, with many Original contributions and several Innovative Surgical Techniques. He has contributed articles to 51 International, 57 National Publications and 10 Chapters in Books. He has also supervised 52 Research Projects. Received 14 Awards and delivered 10 Orations. He has the distinction of being the third person to have PhD in Plastic Surgery in the Country.Member of the Editorial Advisory Committee of 7 reputed journals. Reviewer of five international journals. He has presented in more than 317 papers in the international and national conferences.
